As a warehouse cashier for Salvage Michigan, you are more than just a “scanner.” You play an important role in how our customers feel when they enter and leave the store. You might be the first, last, and sometimes only associate that customers interact with. Because of this, warehouse cashiers are important to the Salvage Michigan team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pace can be intense. We are busiest in the afternoons, on weekends, and during the holiday seasons. There are times when you have to multi-task in a short amount of time. You will have to help customers and scan items, explain a price, prepare items properly for takeout, count cash back, and keep your area clean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Essential Duties and Responsibilities<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As our warehouse cashier, some duties and responsibilities include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

• Smiling, greeting, and thanking customers with a positive attitude <\/li>
• Standing for long periods of time while checking out customers quickly and accurately <\/li>
• Keeping your area clean <\/li>
• Answering customer questions and helping them with their needs <\/li>
• Being available to assist associates across the store as needed <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

  Ideal Qualifications <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  For our warehouse cashier, we prefer that you have: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • High school diploma or higher education<\/li>
  • Experience in retail<\/li>
  • Proficiency with cash registers<\/li>
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively deal with customers<\/li>
