Green Design
Green design is a building approach that attempts to minimize negative effects of construction projects on the environment. In addition, the goal of green design is to safeguard the earth’s natural resources through selecting eco-friendly materials for remodeling projects. Green design is also similar to sustainable design. Sustainable design seeks to meet the goals of sustainability in all construction projects. These goals are to reduce non-renewable resource consumption, lessen waste, and create healthy environments.
Green and sustainable design promote Salvage Michigan’s goal for a more sustainable future. Therefore, all of our consultants specialize in these kinds of design. All products and services offered by our consultants for design projects align with the ideals of green and sustainable construction.
Services
Salvage Michigan consultants strive to go beyond the basic responsibilities required for both small and large design projects. Before any project begins, our design consultants meet with potential clients to discuss wants, needs, and project expectations.
Small Projects
Salvage Michigan considers small projects to be ones that do not require a building permit. These projects include painting, installing new cabinets, putting in new countertops, building backyard fences, and the like.
After our designers have consulted with potential clients, they discuss a budget. Then our designers make a digital visual representation of the home renovation project. Clients and consultants work together to modify this model until it becomes the client’s ideal vision. Salvage Michigan design consultants establish a timeframe for the project. Work begins after a design consultant has helped hire workers for the job. During renovation, our design consultants visit the remodel site weekly. Designers also maintain contact with clients during and after the renovation process.
Large Projects
Salvage Michigan considers large projects to be renovation projects that require building permits. These projects include wall removal, wall addition, room conversions, demolition, and the like.
The process for large projects is similar to that of small projects. Consultations, digital models, budgets, timeframes, and hired labor are standard practice. In contrast to small projects, large project budgets include permit costs. Furthermore, large projects are more expensive. Also, they take more time to complete.
